Offer Schema

The schema.org Offer type used within Product structured data to specify pricing, currency, availability, seller, and validity period for a product — required for Google rich result eligibility and Shopping Graph integration.

Definition

Offer schema is the schema.org Offer type, used within Product structured data to describe the commercial terms for purchasing a product. The Offer type is a required nested property within Product schema for Google rich results — without a properly structured Offer, Product markup is incomplete and ineligible for price/availability rich results. Core Offer properties: price (the numeric price, without currency symbol), priceCurrency (ISO 4217 currency code: "USD", "GBP", "EUR"), availability (schema.org ItemAvailability enum: InStock, OutOfStock, PreOrder, BackOrder, Discontinued, SoldOut, OnlineOnly, InStoreOnly, LimitedAvailability), url (URL of the product page for this offer), seller (Organization or Person type with name and url), priceValidUntil (date in ISO 8601 format that the price is valid through). AggregateOffer for variable-price products: when a product has multiple variants at different price points, AggregateOffer replaces Offer: includes lowPrice, highPrice, priceCurrency, offerCount, and optionally the individual offers as nested Offer types. Availability accuracy: the availability value in Offer schema must accurately reflect actual stock status. Google checks availability accuracy; persistent mismatches between marked-up availability and actual product status can result in rich result demotions. Price accuracy: Google also checks that the price in Offer markup matches the price displayed on the page. Promotional prices: if a product is on sale, the sale price should be in the Offer markup; the original/list price can be included in the priceSpecification property using PriceSpecification type with referencePrice and/or minPrice/maxPrice.

Why it matters for SEO

Offer schema is the component of Product markup that enables price and availability information in SERP rich results — the price display, "In Stock" badge, and shopping platform integration that can improve click-through rates for product queries. Without accurate Offer schema, Product markup is incomplete for rich result purposes. Offer schema also feeds Google\'s Shopping Graph, affecting how products appear across Google Shopping, Google Lens, and other Google surfaces.

How DeepSEOAnalysis checks this

DeepSEOAnalysis validates Offer schema completeness within Product markup: checks for required properties (price, priceCurrency, availability), validates that the Offer is server-rendered in the initial HTML, and confirms structural nesting within the parent Product type. Real-time price accuracy and stock status accuracy require monitoring-level checks that compare markup against product database values.
